As the new year approaches and the High Holidays draw near, preparations intensify for these special days of mercy and Divine favor.
Each year, just a few days before Rosh Hashanah, Jews gather at midnight in synagogues around the world to recite Selichot – a collection of prayers and supplications before G‑d, expressing our request for forgiveness and our prayers to be written and sealed for a good year in the Book of Life.
